Although SuperTrapp offered to "bulge out" my pipe as a temporary measure, I decided to follow Stuart's lead. But the spot welds on my pipe were much closer to the end than on Stuart's; the pipe had to be cut above them. So I took the headpipe to J&D welding in Baltimore, who cut off an inch and a quarter and then used an arc welder to connect the ends of all THREE -- mine has two inner pipes in addition to the outer one -- pipes to prevent any "rattling around" -- or blowing missiles out the back. (My brother once backfired a muffler baffle into the radiator of a pickup truck, but that's another story.) Cutting and welding fee: $10. The SuperTrapp is on the bike now; it turned gold within minutes again, but, given that I have no sleeve gasket to put on yet (it's on order), things seem to be going well. Thanks, Stuart, and good luck to everyone else who orders a SuperTrapp.
